The History of ETC Auto Centre in Eastbourne

The family-run business of Eastbourne Tyre Co Ltd was started in 1925 by Nelson Ashby, based on the values of quality service and excellent workmanship.

Nearly 100 years on, it is now run by Nelson’s great-grandson and 4th generation in the firm, Matt, and his wife Sarah.

Eastbourne Tyre Co Ltd on Fort Road originally began as a tyre retailer and over the years added more services such as manufacturing batteries and becoming the fast fit centre that you will be familiar with today.

In 2015 we started vehicle servicing, repairs and MOT testing and in November 2022, because of increasing demand for those services, we opened up our new workshop here on Stansted Road and incorporated ETC Auto Centre.

Matt has kept the values started by his great-grandfather ensuring that ETC Auto Centre continues to be known for transparency, honesty and quality work. As such, we are proud and fully committed members of The Motor Ombudsman accreditation scheme and are also accredited to the CTSI-approved Service and Repair, Code of Practice, both ensuring that we operate to the highest standards of service and offering peace of mind for customers.
