Your vehicle’s cambelt, also known as a timing belt, is one of the most important components of the engine. It can often get overlooked which could lead to catastrophic damage.

When should I replace my cambelt?

All manufacturers have different replacement intervals but as a guide every 40,000 – 100,000 miles or 4-6 years. This is only a general guide, so we advise to check your vehicles specific requirements.

What does it do?

Its purpose is to keep your engine running smoothly and all its parts running in sync with each other. However, because of its location, it is difficult to spot any signs that you have a problem starting to develop.

Cambelts manage the timing and order of when the valves of the cylinder should open or close. If the timing is not right then the valves, pistons or other engine parts can become damaged.

Wet Timing Belts (Wet Belts)

Wet timing belts differ from the more traditional ‘exposed’ timing belts in that they operate within fully sealed units and are continuously maintained in oil for lubrication.
