ETC Auto Centre are a DVSA Authorised Examiner and are approved and equipped to carry out Class 4 MOT tests. If your requirement falls outside of this, we have arrangements with specialist partners.

Class 4 is Cars, Vans and 4×4s up to a maximum of 3,000kg and also includes Electric and Hybrid vehicles.

How long will my MOT take?

It takes approximately 1 hour to complete the MOT; please feel free to wait in our well-presented reception lounge area and enjoy a free hot drink & wi-fi, while we carry out the work.

We have full workshop facilities, so we are able to carry out any work at a very competitive rate in the event of your vehicle failing to pass the MOT test.

How early can I take my car for an MOT?

You are allowed to have your MOT test carried out and post-dated up to one calendar month in advance of the due date. When booking your MOT do bear in mind that the standards are a minimum requirement to allow the vehicle on the road, and should not be used as a substitute for a scheduled service which comprises a much more comprehensive examination of your vehicle’s operating systems.

What’s covered?

Please note that an MOT certificate confirms that at the time of the test, without dismantling, the vehicle met the minimum acceptable environmental and road safety standards required by law. It does not mean that the vehicle is roadworthy for the life of the certificate.

The test does not cover the condition or serviceability of the engine, clutch or gearbox. Contact us for further details.
